Hi, I am Elizabeth. I go by tonomoshia on twitter and github so that is what I use here. (Check out my onuniverse.)

I’m a freelance web developer living in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I work with HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript and WordPress to create beautiful, functional websites. I am also a Certified Scrum Master and I love working with and improving teams.

I was previously a paralegal, but the call of the wild open tech world has won me over.

I became interested in the online space and most importantly, how to modify it, during the MySpace phase. My MySpace page was killer, I cannot deny it. Having the ability to a make the page look any way I wanted it to was really appealing and fun.

I was a paralegal for 17 years, 12 of them at a Fortune 100 company. I worked in personal injury, on both the plaintiff (5 years) and defense sire (12 years). I am really good at connecting with clients and helping them feel comfortable with the litigation process, which can be daunting and confusing for many people.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Florida International University, and an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Medicine. I am also a Certified Scrum Master, well versed in scrum and agile methodologies.

I learned with FreeCodeCamp, Sitepoint, Skillcrush, Udemy, Udacity, the Odin Project and Coursera to learn about web development. I received a Grow with Google scholarship for a Udacity Front End Nanodegree.

I’m also a licensed Zumba instructor which explains the photo you see here.

I have been attending Meetups for Agile, Coding, and WordPress and have met a lot of really cool people as well as learned interesting things about the industry. My favorite Meetups are South Florida Women in Agile, and South Florida WordPress Meetup.

I attended my first WordCamp–WordCamp Miami– in 2017. In 2018 I was an organizer for WordCamp Miami 2018 and I was able to work on their website, adding speaker bios and such. It was a great opportunity to meet more WordPress peeps and see how things work behind the scenes.  I am working with the organizing team again this year (2019) for our exciting 11th WordCamp Miami!

I ❤️WordPress and WordCamps! A great tool coupled with an even greater community. Looking forward to my next WordCamp!

I am available to tutor people who want to know how to run their own WordPress website. Get empowered, baby!
